Hand Grippers - Are They Worth It and How Do They Work?

In general we often neglect our forearms since they are one of the most accessible parts of the body. No one really discusses a stronger grip among lifters because they are more concerned about bigger biceps, chests, and backs.

The hands are one of the most useful parts of your body, and they serve a variety of functions.

Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with strong wrists and big forearms, and it's best to strengthen the grip with tools that are specifically designed for it.

A hand gripper has been used for a very long time as a tool to help strengthen a person's grip and increase their forearm size.

Why Should You Invest in Hand Grippers?

Forearms are one of the muscles that gain strength in the process of lifting heavy compound lifts, yet self-proclaimed fitness experts often overlook their importance.

In most people, however, grip strength is not as strong as other big muscles, so when performing heavy compound lifts, they will get injured. Rather than relying solely on automatic grip development during compound lifts, one of the best strategies is to work extensively on grip strength.

Hand Grippers Benefits

1- Bulletproof Wrist

The lack of strength and mobility in the wrist leads to frequent wrist injuries. In spite of their inability to improve mobility, hand grippers can deliver serious benefits for the grip.

You should also pay attention to grip strength training if you wear a wrist wrap while exercising. Use the wrist wraps until your wrist becomes strong enough so that you do not need them any longer.

2- Stronger Lift

Would you like to know a practical hack that will increase your lifting strength? Work on grip strength first.

As one of your body's most powerful neurological stabilizers, your grip increases your strength by activating your muscles and recruiting your muscle fibers.

To increase my clients' PR, I make them train their forearms more often, as this improves their grip strength. Pullups, deadlifts, bench presses, and even bicep curls can all be enhanced by using the bar hard.

Denis Cyplenkov, a Ukrainian professional arm wrestler who is also known for his record-breaking bicep curl, has one of the strongest forearms in the world. Now that you understand the concept, can you connect the dots?

3- Workout Endurance

What happens when you train your back at high volume? Do your forearm muscles give way before your target muscles?

The muscles in your back are large and powerful. Having a week's grip strength might interfere with your muscle growth.

In order to endure high-intensity training sessions that are hard to sustain with a weak wrist, hand grippers can improve grip and forearm strength.

4- Bigger Forearms

Although hand grippers were originally designed to improve grip strength and not to increase forearm size, they still help in the development of stronger and bigger forearms.

You can gain forearm size by strengthening your Brachioradialis and Flexors with hand grippers.

Additionally, women's love of beautiful forearms is unquestionable.

5- Stay Battle Ready

It's true what I said. To improve the impact of their punches and grapples, MMA fighters extensively work on their grip strength.

For someone who wants to stay battle-ready, grip strength is a big asset. Punches with a strong grip will be more effective. Professional boxers who had the hardest punches in history had extremely powerful forearms.

6- Portable And Convenient

One of the biggest advantages of hand grippers is their portability. No matter where you are, you can train your forearms and grip.

Generally, I recommend my clients set a timer on their phones to remind them to train their grip. It only takes about 10-15 minutes of daily training to develop stronger grip strength within a month.

Bodyweight Drills Can Help Too

Is it necessary to invest in tools if you can achieve stronger grips and bigger forearms with bodyweight drills? With body weight drills you can improve your grip and forearm strength rather than investing in hand grippers.

Strengthening your grip and improving your dexterity can be accomplished by performing static hangs or pullups with a towel. Some people may find pull-ups too difficult for improving their grip strength.

But in my opinion, Hand gripper is a far more convenient option to choose for.

Doesn’t Work On Extensors

Hand grippers don't assist in the all-round development of your forearms, they don't exercise the Extensor muscles.

If training forearms is the main reason behind the purchase of a gripper, then there is Gripzilla Ultimatum is the better options available in the market.

Are hand grippers worth it? Definitely yes, these are cheap grip training tools that won’t cost much but provide endless benefits. Regular training with hand grippers will help you lift heavier weights, a firm handshake, improve your forearm endurance, lets you throw strong punches, and prevent injuries while moving heavy objects.
